Master minimalist
Taoist breathing in days

Sit on a rock, or just sit in a chair. On the inhale, rest attention at a soft place in front. On the exhale, settle it at the seat of the back. Ten minutes a day — your body will tell you whether it works.

Method

Three movements, two points

The whole practice has two points: one in front, one behind. One for the inhale, one for the exhale. Everything else is detail.

1

Inhale, toward the front

Rest attention lightly at a soft centre in front and let the belly rise. No holding, no forcing — just bring the attention back.

2

Exhale, toward the back

Move attention to the seat of the back. Let the exhale lengthen and the shoulders drop.

Then, into the day

Five minutes after waking, ten before sleep. The gaps on a commute, waiting for a lift, scrolling a phone — any of them will do.
